Lava Ore — How to Get & Use

Lava Ore is a boss-summoning item used exclusively to spawn the Mace Boss in Sea 1. It is NOT a crafting material.

How to Get Lava Ore

Detail Value
Source Marine Captain (boss)
Location Marine Base Town (Sea 1, Level 1,200–1,300 area)
Drop Rate 5%
Respawn Time ~20 minutes

The Marine Captain patrols Marine Base Town. Only this specific enemy drops Lava Ore — regular Marines in the area do not.

⚠️ There is no way to get Lava Ore from cave exploration, chests, or other enemies. The Marine Captain is the only source.

How to Get the Lava Key

Before you can use Lava Ore, you need the Lava Key:

Detail Value
Location On a table near the Marine Base Town spawn point
Use Unlocks the caged door behind Marine Base Town

The key respawns on the table and can be picked up freely — no boss fight required.

How to Summon the Mace Boss

Once you have both the Lava Key and 1 Lava Ore:

  1. Go behind Marine Base Town to find the caged door
  2. Use the Lava Key to unlock the gate
  3. Enter the cave and find the cauldron inside
  4. Place 1 Lava Ore into the cauldron
  5. The Mace Boss spawns immediately

⚠️ You must deal at least 20% of the boss’s HP to qualify for rewards. Tagging it and running won’t work.

Tips

  • Farm the Marine Captain efficiently: Bring high single-target damage. At 5% drop rate, expect ~20 kills on average.
  • Grab the Lava Key first: The key sits on a table near the Marine Base spawn — pick it up before farming the Captain so you’re ready to go immediately.
  • Boss respawns: The Mace Boss respawn timer is separate from the Marine Captain — you can farm both in parallel if you have multiple Lava Ores.
  • Related items: The game also has Ice Ore (100% from Snow Harpy boss on Half Cold Island, requires SeaBeast Core given to Blacksmith first) and SeaBeast Core (20% from Sea Beasts). Both are used at the Blacksmith for SeaBeast Armor and Helmet — see the Accessories page.
